The legendary Camaro Z/28 is back. Originally introduced in 1967, Camaro Z/28 was designed specifically to compete in the Sports Car Club of America’s Trans-Am 2 class. Lightweight, nimble and incredibly powerful, the original Z/28 was built to rule the road racing circuit.

The 2015 Camaro Z/28 track car carries the same racing credentials, incorporating a performance-first design philosophy that takes advantage of state-of-the-art, race-proven technology. Put simply, the Z/28 is designed to dominate the track, lap after lap

The new 2015 Camaro Z28 has been redesigned in the front and rear to create a strong visual change, producing wider, lower and a more contemporary appearance. It comes with the full aerodynamic package that creates 410 lbs more downforce than the Camaro SS at speed, which assists in it being the most track-capable Camaro.

Chevrolet Plays Centerfield

The Detroit Tigers season opener was a few days ago, and just like David Price and the rest of the team, Chevrolet has been preparing for the big day.

For the past six seasons, Chevrolet has chosen vehicles from its lineup to adorn the top of the Chevrolet Fountain at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich. This fountain sprays Detroit Tigers spirit every time the Tigers score a home run, shooting water high into the air, all while a growling tiger roars through the park’s speakers.

This year, the fountain features a Velocity Yellow 2015 Corvette Z06 and a 2015 Midnight Edition Silverado. Reaching their perches atop the fountain is no easy feat. It is a three-hour process by a team of highly skilled professionals that requires gingerly lifting each vehicle into place using cranes. To see the behind-the-scenes magic, check out the video below:

Blue Lego Corvette

Ever since he can remember, Dave Slater has always wanted a 1969 Corvette. But rather than scrimping and saving for it, he just went ahead and built his dream car.

Out of Legos.

Lego_Corevette_build_stepsSince he uploaded it on Aug. 29, Dave’s design and creation of a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette is gathering support among both Lego and Corvette enthusiasts.

“I didn’t expect for the project to take off like it has. The response has been enthusiastic ever since I posted images of the design back in May.”

Dave has been a long time Lego fan, and sharing his love with his wife started him on the road to create this Lego masterpiece.

“Like so many other people, I grew up playing with Legos, but I put the sets away sometime around high school. When I found out my wife had never played with Legos, I knew I had to get out my old sets.”

Sharing the joy of Legos with his wife reignited Dave’s interest in the hobby, and he began thinking of ways he could design his own creations. He soon decided his first original creation would be his favorite car – the 1969 Corvette.

“For as long as I can remember, I have loved this car. The car just speaks to me. I love the curves and shape of it.”

Dave works as a designer in the litigation industry, and used his skills as an artist to help him create the Corvette.

“By day, I’m an artist creating 2D and 3D models within the tech sector, so I’m constantly drawing and modeling. When I set out to create the Corvette, I started by using the tools Lego provided to determine what pieces I would need for the build. I’d drawn the Corvette and modeled it in 3D so many times, I knew every curve of it.”

LDD_Corvette-520x300Using the Lego Digital Designer tool, Dave was able to see what Lego pieces were necessary to create the Corvette.

The Corvette ended up needing around 1,500 Lego pieces to create. Though he started off with many Legos of his own, Dave tapped in to a worldwide community of Lego enthusiasts to find the pieces he needed. That in itself was hard enough. What made the search even more difficult, however, was Dave’s color choice.

“I chose to make the Corvette blue for a couple of reasons. For one, it’s my favorite color. Secondly, this particular Corvette has always been blue in my mind (although I do prefer the C2 in red). And lastly, the online community tends to build kits like this out of red, black or yellow pieces, so I knew the blue would stand out.”

We’re a fan of the blue… what do you think?!
